Hello Norma Jean: 'Forever Marilyn' Arrives In Palm Springs

Just in time for the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's passing, a 26-foot-tall statue of the Hollywood legend has moved from Michigan Avenue in Chicago to a new spot in downtown Palm Springs – the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way to be exact.

According to the LA Times, the sculpture "Forever Marilyn" was created by Johnson & Johnson heir Seward Johnson, inspired by the iconic scene from the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch when a drafty New York subway grate blows the sex symbol's skirt well above her knees.
