Actress Suzanne Clement Honored at Cannes for Performance in Trans Film
Canadian actress Suzanne Clément won Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in the film Laurence Anyways.
The film, by 23-year-old filmmaker Xavier Dolan of Quebec, is a drama set in the '90s about Laurence (played by Melvil Poupaud) trying to salvage his relationship with his fiancée, played by Clément, after revealing that he is interested in transitioning to physically become a woman.
