Two new deal sites are aiming to reach gay consumers

Deals aplenty are coming the way of the gay community.

Two deals sites offering discounts that appeal to gay consumers are aiming to fill a niche in the crowded deal site space.

Direct Male, founded by veteran gay marketer Andrew Isen, is targeting upscale gay males nationally with an array of products and services, from dining deals to skin product discounts. It's set to launch in mid-June.

Out Escapes, which just went live, is a flash sales travel site focusing on the larger LGBT community. Recent offers include: $75 for a Gay Pride Fireworks Sail in the city on June 24 and $175 a night at the Rio Celeste Hideway in Costa Rica.

Both sites are eager to reach an affluent consumer audience whose buying power is set to reach $790 billion this year. The LGBT community spends $65 billion annually on travel alone, according to Community Marketing.
