Okay, let's have some fun, shall we?

The Grace Jones video got me thinking; let's put your favorite music videos in here.

I posted this on my youtube channel five years ago. While my other vids get about 90 views, this one's still getting some after 170,000 and comments, even. It's not even the whole song, but five years ago, the best I could find. Enjoy:

And here's another one from the same era that goes along with the Grace Jones' one really well. Les Rita Mitsouko:

I have so many favorites, but a couple:

Mitsou's Bye Bye, Mon Cowboy -

The 'cowboys' are so fucking hot - too sexy to be American, really.

Too bad that video isn't scratch-n-sniff - all I can ever think is, wow, I bet they smell so good...

And of course, since you wanted to "have some fun," Deelite's Groove is in the Heart

<3 <3 <3 Les Rita Mitsouko & Dee-Lite.

I'd place Caroline Loeb's - C'est la ouate here. It's not a fave, but it is representative of the some terrible (yet fun) French 80s music.

So- to stay with the French theme- Jacques Dutronc's "Les Cactus"

And Julien Dore's - "Les Limites" (check out all versions)

&feature=relmfu

And ...

Le Tigre - Deceptacon

So we're going to France are we?

JACQUES DUTRONC - J'aime les filles

Michel Sardou Femmes des années 80

and now I think I'm going to cry because this song reminds me of someone I loved very much who died before he could transition. Marc Almond remade this song as "What Makes A Man A Man" which was brilliantly done.

(to anyone who doesn't understand the lyrics, all he's telling her is how much he loves her and thinks, dreams of her the entire time. The song came out in 2007 and the big joke now is "has he caught up to her yet?&quot

about Dana International....

Sharon Cohen (Hebrew: שרון כהן‎ , professionally known as Dana International (דנה אינטרנשיונל; born Yaron Cohen ירון כהן; February 2, 1972) is an Israeli pop singer of Yemenite Jewish ancestry. She has released eight albums and three additional compilation albums, positioning herself as one of Israel's most successful musical acts ever. She is most famous for having won the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham with the song "Diva".

Born male, Dana discovered that she was transsexual at an early age, coming out when she was 13. Undergoing sex reassignment surgery in 1993, it was that year that she released her first album, Danna International, upon which she based her stage name. Consolidating her initial commercial success with the albums Umpatampa (1994) and Maganuna (1996), in 1998 she was selected to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Diva"; subsequently winning the international competition, Dana came to public attention throughout Europe.

Following this up with the albums Free (1999), Yoter VeYoter (2001), HaHalom HaEfshari (2002) and Hakol Ze Letova (2008), in 2011 she once more represented Israel in Eurovision, this time with the song "Ding Dong", although failed to make it into the final. That same year she also became a judge on the Israeli television music talent contest Kokhav Nolad.[1]

Dana International has been credited with being one of the world's best known transsexuals. In 2005, a poll by the Israeli news website Ynet to list those perceived as the 200 Greatest Israelis saw Dana voted the 47th-greatest Israeli of all time.[2]

Also, Free is a really good song too! She has many songs in English.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mix. They are two of my favorite bands and the editing is SO COOL. I play this at times when I need energy.

It also inspires such vivid memories of an old dance club called the Mudd Club, which was located in the East Village. I heard "Small Town Boy" there for the first time and rushed out to buy the album.
