She has released eight albums and three additional compilation albums, positioning herself as one of Israel's most successful musical acts ever. She is most famous for having won the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham with the song "Diva".

Born male, Dana discovered that she was transsexual at an early age, coming out when she was 13. Undergoing sex reassignment surgery in 1993, it was that year that she released her first album, Danna International, upon which she based her stage name. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mix. They are two of my favorite bands and the editing is SO COOL. I play this at times when I need energy.

It also inspires such vivid memories of an old dance club called the Mudd Club, which was located in the East Village. I heard "Small Town Boy" there for the first time and rushed out to buy the album.
