Referring to a transgender person as an "it" is OFFENSIVE.

I can't believe this is such a fucking difficult concept to grasp! Attacking a hateful person, oh, let's say, Ann Coulter, and using words like "wasn't it called Jeff?" is fucking VILE and FILTHY! Too bad we have alleged progressives, and liberals who can't seem to get this basic concept.

we have the ability to fight back for what is right. they don`t have the ability to fight for themselves that`s why it is up to us to fight for them. personally i think the whole dam thing should have been pulled.

This isn't a game. It isn't about who is more offended or not. I don't feel urge to reduce myself to racial name-calling when an African-American is an anti-Semite. One can defend the rights of the mentally challenged without resorting to anti-transgender behavior!

No person, regardless of anything, should be referred to as "it." Using that as a derogatory reference for a category of people just makes it worse, as you point out.

One small point of order though, specifically regarding Ann Coulter... I'm not certain Ann Coulter is a person. In fact, I'm pretty sure Ann Coulter is actually a Sleestak.

the question is really one of species and planetary/galactic origin. Not sex, gender, etc.

Perhaps her version of sexuality is a matter of AC current versus DC current. I don't know, and I frankly don't want to find out. Just wish she'd crawl back into whatever pupa-infested cavern of despair she was hiding in the last five years.

While it (obviously) may not matter to you, transgendered people are people, too. Period.

I can't claim to understand it, as I'm just an old run-of-the-mill gay guy daily facing misconceptions and disinformation*, but I've known some wonderful people (key word: people) who happened to be trans.

Of course your cause is important, but your attempt to hijack a thread for it, because you apparently feel it's a "real" issue as opposed to the OP's thread is rude, to say the least. Start your own thread and quit trying to one-up on an equally real and important issue. As the OP said, it's not a contest. Geez.

*But pedestrian compared to what trans people go through!

for every time I've seen a post that makes this one necessary, I'd be rich. It's sad and disgusting that it still needs to be said.
