SALEM, Ore. -- An Oregon woman will be the first openly lesbian lawmaker to lead a state legislative chamber in the U.S.

Democrats in the state House Thursday night chose Rep. Tina Kotek of Portland to be the next speaker. The decision must be formally ratified in January.

Kotek's selection notches another milestone from an election that brought a series of victories to the gay community. Voters last week elected the first openly gay U.S. senator and the first bisexual member of Congress.

Kotek will be the first gay woman to get the top job in a legislative chamber.

I double down and stand by the information in the fliers. the state seal is irrelevant and beside the point. it's an attempt by Kotek's supporters to evade the substantive issues

Video Voters Guide Candidate Sharon Nasset
The League of Women Voters of Portland and MetroEast introduces you to Sharon Nasset, Candidate for Oregon State Representative, District 44.
Dawn Bringer5 minutes ago (edited)Can I also just mention I live across the River In Cornelius but that doesn’t mean I never have business in that neck of the wood’s or care about it at all. I’ve been in portland for so long I love all the malls for instance like Clackamas and Floyd Center and everything and we’ve got a great public transit system in the area. I care about the Portland, Metro.
I attended the Multnomah Country Democratic meeting a few weeks back and Tina kotek had ‘other business" This backs up what Sharon Nasset said, she’s rarely seen in her district.

But on top of that I just wanted to add on top of that her Opponent Tina Kotek not only blocked the construction of new Infrastructure but she seems to block anything that isn’t HER agenda.
Our concern is not just for Helping support a Candidate that opposes Tina kotek but we’re doing is a favor for the Entire Oregon Democratic party from the way we see it because no other Democrat in the state of Oregon can get anything done if Tina Kotek doesn’t want it from the looks of it.
Tina Kotek also among other things has Blocked a Bill being called for By The Young Turks and The WOLF-PAC that calls on Congress to give us an convention to propose amendments to the US constitution that would allow us to Reign in Political contributions and overturn citizens united declaring finally that Money is not speech and corporations are not people
Tina Kotek has stood in the way on all of that.

See look.
You don’t have to take my word for any of these things though, look into it.http://gov.oregonlive.com/bill/2016/HJM201/
and right here we have Tina Kotek blocking it. Take note that most Democrats were COSPONSORS so something funky is going on where they’re taking marching orders From tina.
Tina Kotek did all that she could. In fact Tina Kotek did everything she could to prevent transparency on top of that. The wolf-pac team had to approach Republicans and ask them to file a Motion to withdraw the Bill from Committee and they Did just to Generate a Record of Tina Kotek opposing us.
She didn’t want there to be a RECORD of her opposing us. She conspired to make sure evidence was never generated that she was in our way or blocked us in the first place.

in Addition to that Tina Kotek blew the league of women voters off and wouldn’t take an interview from them while Sharon Nasset did.
Tina Kotek can’t be bother to appear before the Multnomah county democrats.
Sharon Nasset DID
Tina Kotek won’t bother to be interviewed by the league of women voters
sharon nasset did.
