While I do appreciate the reminders that there are still bastions of humanity out there, I hate the idea that we should be herded to a few states so that we get treated like everyone else takes for granted. (And I grew up in Illinois and really hate the humidity of the upper Midwest.)

Whenever I tell people from other parts of the country that I'm from Minnesota, they always seem to go into how cold it is. Frankly, I'd rather have -5 than 90 and humid. A couple of years ago we even had a day where we were the hottest place on the entire planet. The temperature was 101 and the dewpoint was 89. The heat index was 134 degrees. Even skinny people burst into a full-body sweat when stepping outside.

The states bend for the feds when it involves Marijuana, but not for this. Can't the fed law supersede over state?
