West Hollywood is hoping people ditch the car and hop on their free nightlife trolley. The city of West Hollywood premiered its Pickup trolley line on Friday night, offering it up as an alternative to driving, bus-ing, or cab-ing to the bars and restaurants on Santa Monica and Robertson boulevards.
The free trolley bus, operating on a four-mile WeHo loop from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, is decorated bright yellow, with pop-art images of hot people beckoning riders with suggestive messages like "Cuddling & breakfast not required." The buses blast house music and have photo booths for riders to take snapshots. Aside from the free fare, the Pickup line offers discounts at local institutions like the Abbey and Hugo's.

And to think of what life would be without the LGBT community.

(5,105 posts)and the old streetcar lines were destroyed in 2000/2001.
Streetcars once ran all over LA, and from WeHo all the way from there to the beaches, Santa Monica and beyond. Big oil had to claim its turf.
Don't trust me (I witnessed it), look it up.

(5,105 posts)I'm glad/alarmed that you want to place unearned trust in me, but, look it up.
Trust, but verify, as the old Raygun said.
I could be any old crank, even Raygun's ghost. Always find absolutely unimpeachable sources for any story you want to run with. Trust no one.
Seeing SF is not unfortunate by a long shot. Walk through every part of it, even the mil bases and factory parts of town. See the Diego mural at CCSF. See the civil war bases that never fired a shot. Go to Swan's Seafood and wait for a counter spot. Go to Delancey Street and get great service. Go to the Coit Tower and marvel at the frescoes. Go see the Bay Model and touch a ray. Go to Muir Woods and leave it cleaner than before you saw it. Go see the life at Half Moon bay. Go see the Winchester House and Mystery Spot. Look thru the camera obscura. See the museums at Palo Alto. Drive up on Twin Peaks if it's not too foggy, or even if it is. Notice how the cranes on Oakland's, or wherever's, ports are the walking long-legged turtle-like things in Star Wars they insprired.
See that guy walking around in a top hat and metallic ribbons in his hair; we once haunted each other, I guess, because we were in the same proximity many times, both saying, "what is that crazy dude doing here?"
Go tell Frank Chu that there are actually fifteen galaxies, not just 12. (Make up their names, or confirm the new Three.)
Go to a party in city hall and tell them all that I miss them. You can go there, too, it's not a class thing, so go.
