Campaign manager Jeremy Kennedy says conservative lawmakers are pushing to write discrimination into the Constitution this year, even as a younger generation has voiced growing support for civil unions and gay marriage.
Kennedy, who appears on News & Views this weekend, says over the next 15 weeks thay will be working to engage college students, faith-based leaders, progressives and others and urge them to vote No against the May 8th amendment.

(52,166 posts)1. It is a long shot to say the least
but we do have a shot at this. There will very likely be a spirited primary in the most socially liberal district (by far) in the state which should make turnout very high in that district. There won't be nearly as high profile a primary in any GOP district (though there will be three primaries in semi solid red districts). The GOP nomination fight will be over and there is no fight at the state level. But we start with a 15 or so point deficit off polling but if the people know what the amendment does that drops to near even.
