Did you know October is LGBT History month?

How much gay history do you know?

Without looking it up, do you know:

What are the Daughters of Bilitis?

Who is Harry Hay?

How many states can still legally discriminate against LGBT people in housing and employment?

What is the significance of Lawrence v. Texas?

Where is Lesbos?

Who is Christine Jorgensen?

Why are pride marches held (mostly) in June?

I don't know if even my lesbian daughter and her wife know it either. I will ask them. Post the link and I will spread the word.

I just thought of historical things about the GLBT community I know. So, it is just random, so to speak. However, and this was news to me, there is an actual site: http://www.lgbthistorymonth.com/ , it looks to have some good info, but the navigation is a bit odd.

I am not meaning to sound like a smart ass, I just didn't pick these from a site. These are all things I know which are related to our history, so it is just a random selection. However, you can check out http://www.lgbthistorymonth.com/ for some of the answers. (Wiki gives some really good info on the first two.)

"How many states can still legally discriminate"? I did make a list of them at one time but I've forgotten.

Mostly just got a lot of grief from the drooling neanderthal slobs that ran my bldg and a bureaucratic runaround from the hack NYC DOE agency that's supposed to protect people from homophobia in the school system.

Don't look now, but we're going the wrong way.

Page on Facebook. Actually, I had one of my own and I helped on another.

My favorite thing on the one page, that I only did for awhile before I left Facebook, was Today In Gay History

It's amazing how many people have no idea what happened in our history. Not here on DU. just in general
