I came across this blog recently: http://fyeahqueervintage.tumblr.com/. Great pictures and history snippets.
Mild nudity, so probably NSFW for everyone.

(55,148 posts)Also I recently found out that there are very strong suspicions that one of my Uncles was Gay.
I was a change of life baby, my father was 63 when I was born and he was the baby of 14 (so yes my Aunts & uncles are from long ago). My father was born in 1900 and the Uncle in question was born in 1888.
He never married and since he was single her shared his house with a "roommate". He had amassed a large sum of money over his lifetime & when he passed away, not one penny went to a family member, it was all plus the house left to his "roommate".

(38,187 posts)but both father- and mother-side were pretty uptight, so I'm sure if either of them was gay/lesbian, they would have led a 'straight' life. It's actually sad.
I hope your uncle had, even closeted, a nice life.

(163,986 posts)talk me down with a wooden PlaySkool pull toy, a glass Avon bottle or an amber cig holder in its leather case.
I've been trying to find a small business that is interesting enough to follow though with, and that might be it. I love the hunt, the research and stories, and don't need to collect.
Queer vintage must be an even bigger challenge. Very cool.

(38,187 posts)And funny enough, all my techblogs I'm reading are now coming up daily with praised retro stuff.
I actually do have an amber cig holder somewhere if I wasn't idiotic enough to trash it. I'll look for it tomorrow. (I just obviously trashed a retro sci-fi toy a few months ago that's now selling for $ 150). Ack.
