FLORENCE, Ariz.A sheriff seeking the GOP nomination for an Arizona Congressional seat was forced Saturday to confirm he is gay amid allegations of misconduct made by a man with whom he previously had a relationship.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu on Saturday denied claims he tried to threaten the man, a Mexican immigrant and a former campaign volunteer, with deportation if their past relationship was made public. The man's allegations were first published Friday in The New Times, a Phoenix alternative weekly magazine.
Babeu, a first-term sheriff who has risen to national prominence with his strong opposition to illegal immigration and smuggling, said the accusations were an attempt to hurt his political career.
He vowed to continue his campaign in Arizona's rural western 4th Congressional District seat, but said he had called presidential candidate Mitt Romney's staff to say he would step down from his post as state campaign co-chair.

Guess he will just go to Donnie McClurkin Camp. After that he will get married. Then he will win in a landslide.

(3,310 posts)Rob's getting better slowly; one day at a time. He's got a load of appointments this week, so they'll let us know what's going on.
Just yesterday he noticed his toes were getting purplish again, so we don't know if it's "here we go again" or not. Otherwise, he's a little stronger each day. I worry about him pushing too fast, but he's man-all-man, gonna do what he's gonna do anyway so I don't harass him with worried nagging. (I hate nags so I won't do it.)
The ride ain't over but it's one helluvalot better.
The love, intentions, energy, and prayers from y'all has helped immensely.

(3,310 posts)Our first batch is ready to bottle. We got out the filtering stuff this afternoon, but I got busy in the garden and didn't finish until late. I'll probably put it up tomorrow.
I'm definitely the Lucy of the both of us. Godde love him for being a patient Ethel LOL
We'll know more about his status on Tuesday. Those purple toes are scaring us.
Love right back.
Can't wait until he's up enough for us to come down and have lunch. There's Honey's for lunch or there's a dessert-and-coffee place on 9th St that's pretty good. (The cheesecake looks awesome!) I met a couple there yesterday evening for a wedding consultation. I'll be performing their ceremony in September. (A gig!! W00T!)

Francesca's is great - would love to meet you there. Or Honey's. It all depends on your schedule and what Rob is up for.
