October 11 is UN International Day of the Girl Child, focusing on the challenges
girls worldwide face because of their gender, including education, nutrition, health care, lack of opportunities in every area. It addresses such issues as gender violence and child marriage. It also focuses on the rising voices and visibility of girls around the world on issues like climate change, and other major challenges we face.
