quotes of the day

The modern woman is the curse of the universe. A disaster, that's what. She thinks that before her arrival on the scene no woman ever did anything worthwhile before, no woman was ever liberated until her time, no woman really ever amounted to anything.

-- Adela Rogers St. John, 1974

I wish women would stand together and shackle the men who want to move us backwards.

we don't know what we don't know - because, as you observe, vital information is completely hidden in favor of top-down, "leader" driven, famous men stories, just like those told around hunter-gatherer campfires.

Re-listening to Zinn's A People's History of the US, lots of details there about hidden stuff, many of which he brings to bear on a rather critical look at "our" Constitution, in which women weren't even persons, as the wealth of this country was programmed, with the conscious and strategic assistance of legal slavery, for certain classes, who perhaps more than anything else just wanted out from under the control, and regulations, of British monarchy.

that men would receive the same treatment they have been dishing out all this time.

but history suggests that it's unlikely to happen. Too bad no modern society will give it a shot.
