Why are all the State Legislatures Passing the Anti-Abortion Laws?

It seems to me there is some hidden agenda for all these state legislatures to suddenly pass the 20 week ban and the restrictions on clinics. Now Marco Rubio is going to into the same type of bill into congress. This is the same as when all the legislatures starting passing anti-union laws. ALEC was behind that. Is there some well funded organization giving money to the conservatives politicians to place this law into vote and to push the vote for it?

In the process though - they are losing women, the immigration vote, the union vote, .........

Doesn't seem like the Repugs learned anything from the last couple of elections. Looks like they are aiding in turning this country blue.

They are appeasing the religious fanatics and the Tea Party.

Even though this is the 21st century, they believe a woman belongs in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant.

They want to have total control over women and their reproductive choices.

They will be coming after our right to vote next.

Suggestions have been floating around that only property owners should be allowed to vote.

The Tea Party and religious fanatics have the backing of the Heritage Foundation, ALEC, the Chamber of Commerce, Koch brothers, numerous religious institutions, Americans for Prosperity, Karl Rove and the list goes on and on.

They want the U.S. to follow the Bible, not the Constitution.

They want a Theocracy.

Agenda. I imagine your suspicions are justified. The agenda is driven by corporate priorities of having a massive uneducated work force to put in prison if they don't want to work for minimum wage and no benefits.

young people and minorities didn't get off their asses in 2010 and allowed republican voters to put republicans into majorities into alot of legislatures and governors mansions with no substantial opposition.

Maybe we can learn for next year, eh?

Yes, I just read about it, an ALEC like organization called American United for Life is behind the anti-abortion bills in the state legislatures. Mike Huckabee is part of this organization.

vestige of rights and access to power, the backlash is tremendous. we are seeing this on a daily basis--the hatred and violence directed against women is almost unthinkable, and it appears to be accelerating.
