Data Proves NC’s Voter ID Law Declares War on Women’s Votes

By: Adalia Woodbury
Aug. 27th, 2013

... When women marry or divorce, they change their surname. This means that ID which proves their citizenship and their new legal name won’t match. That leaves women’s votes vulnerable to challenges.

... The hard numbers provided by the Republican controlled State Board of Elections in North Carolina show that 64% of women who are eligible voters don’t have the ID they will need to vote in 2014. That is 62% of women without the newly required ID who voted in 2012 ...

My Waspy sister has been married three times, and is having trouble, ironically, getting a copy of her first marriage certificate, because she married her first husband, a marine, on base in San Diego a long time ago. Married three times? Here in Florida, she needs all three marriage certificates, birth certificate, and, I think, some utility bills in her name or some other stuff like that. Just to renew her driver's license, and her driver's license, of course, is the government picture ID she will need to vote. All info is available at the Gather Get Go website.
Men just need a birth certificate and some sort of paperwork giving them an address, and a w-2.. An 18 year old who has not had a job, thus no W-2, and has lost their social security card, also has a problem, unless they get a reasonable clerk, in order to get a Florida picture ID or driver's license.
Yeah, a lot of this stuff is easy for people with internet access and a bit of money.

Only affects women, except for the occasional guy who took his wife's name.
And there is no short-cut.
Fuckers. Next thing they will just send out gender-sensitive drones at polling places.

Single women is one of the groups who support democrats. The fact that these laws hit this group is a bonus to the GOP
