Elizabeth Smart interview

Elizabeth Smart was interviewed by Katie Couric last night about her experience being kidnapped and held hostage for 9 months when she was 14. I was amazed at how well she has come through this experience and applaud her for speaking about it publicly.

She is a woman of great courage and strength. I admire her so much for choosing to be so open about her experience - she helps take the shame out of rape by being so frank about what happened to her.

I was paying so much attention to Elizabeth that I hardly remembered. Katie has a show in that time slot.

I remember when she was rescued somebody saying this girl is ruined for life. And look at her. She had her head on straight going into it and she put herself together coming out of it. Wonderful human being, wonderful family.
