Yesterday marked the anniversary of the first presidential election in which American women were allowed to vote. In honor of the occasion, Sociological Images flagged this satirical pamphlet created by suffragette Alice Duer Miller in 1915.

It’s a response to pamphlet entitled Some Reasons Why We Oppose Votes for Women put out by the anti-suffrage group the National Association Opposed to Women’s Suffrage–the same group that created this gem we’ve highlighted before warning that giving women the vote would put the government under “petticoat rule.”
