Women CEOs face "glass cliff" (poss undeserved blame)

• Women are more likely to be chosen to lead companies in turmoil. If they fail to revive faltering companies, some place the blame on the woman’s leadership instead of the conditions she was handed. This is referred to as a “glass cliff.” Melanie Cox, CEO of Wet Seal, voiced concern that when female CEOs lead companies that falter, businesses will be less likely to choose women to lead their organizations. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a senior associate dean at Yale School of Management, says that fear has validity, as women "are getting harsher treatment than men leading difficult turnarounds
