For sufferers of carpal tunnel syndrome

I ran across this product that might be helpful. A neurologist A.Robert Spitzer developed these gel cushioned gloves that have a channel to prevent pressure and vibration affect the median nerve. These gloves are being used in industry and with athletes.

The design makes sense to me. My cycling gloves have padding that runs across the span of the hand, so there is nothing to relieve the pressure. I will probably by a pair next month. I'm retired now and need to watch my budget. If I do I will give a review here and in the bicycling group.

"Autoimmune Diseases. In autoimmune diseases, the body's immune system abnormally attacks its own tissue, causing widespread inflammation, which, in many cases, affects the carpal tunnel of the hand. Such autoimmune diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and thyroiditis, which can lead to hypothyroidism. Some experts believe that CTS may actually be one of the first symptoms in a number of these diseases. Studies also suggest that CTS patients with these disorders are more likely to have severe CTS that requires surgery.

I would add, Sjogren's syndrome is another autoimmune disease associated with carpel tunnel.
