Related: About this forumFinally! Surgery tomorrow!
My procedure which was scheduled for August 6 was deemed "elective", so it was cancelled because our hospitals were slammed with Covidiots.
So, finally, tomorrow I will march myself into the hospital and get this damn thing taken care of. There are still a lot of Covid patients in there, so my daughter will just drop me off.
Could use some healing thoughts from my DU friends. Thanks. I'll check back in on the other side.

(6,699 posts)I'm in the same boat. Headed to Portland, OR VA November 24th for an "elective surgery", TURP, that has been postponed because of Covidiots filling the ICU's and plaguing the surgery room use.
I have since developed a hernia, related to postponing the TURP, and will need to schedule surgery for that sometime later this spring. For each procedure, I need to travel 2700 miles each way (5400 total) to accomplish the medical attention.
Life doesn't get easier at 74..😖
