Omega-3 fatty acid deficiency exacerbates the effects of metabolic syndrome in the brain.

Short version: Omega-3 fatty acids appear to effectively counteract symptoms of metabolic syndrome. Namely, increased insulin resistance and cognitive impairment.

Always considered metabolic syndrome vs waistline .....Not in terms of brain function...

A good number of neural receptors are mediated by glucose and insulin resistance reduces blood glucose levels.
