I finally saw "The Shawshank Redemption". One of the best films ever

I have never forgiven Forrest Gump for having gotten that instead.

Phenomenal story, great cast, great location (a real prison that was no longer in use.)

Did you know it was skillfully adapted from the novella by Stephen King? It WAS!

Definitely worth the read.

Hollywood so often botches the adaptation, usually to "spice it up" with more action sequences.

Great flick, with a great cast.

14. The thing I liked the least about the movie

Was the character they had to create to confirm (in a rather unrealistic way) that Andy was legitimately innocent. I liked Stephen King’s version, where Red simply said that Andy was the only person in Shawshank that he really believed was innocent.

But that’s nitpicking, really. It was a great adaptation.

For some reason, his writing doesn't do it for me, but his movie adaptations are awesome.

Another one you might want to try is The Green Mile. Amazing movie and another Stephen King story. It has a bit of a paranormal twist, so it's a bit different.

20. Great movie. My very old pal...

...Pete Von Sholly, is the Storyboard Artist of Shawshank Redemption.

He's done something like 200 films as storyboard artist, including, for example, Mars Attacks.

He's currently working on the Chucky series on whatever outlet it's on.

I worked on some underground comics with Pete and George Dicaprio (and Tim Leary) back in the 70s.

Just talked to Pete earlier today, we were both thankful to still be here.

21. One of my favorites. I think Stephen King is at his best in his short stories

"Shawshank" was one, "The Green Mile" another, and "Delores Claiborne" a third. All were made into movies and all are things I've seen multiple times and never tire of.

Best of all, he's one of us, ooba gabba ooba gabba.
