Two New Netflix: " Diana Vreeland" and "Bury my Ashes at Bergdorf's"

This will only appeal to Artistic Types/Fashion Mavens and those Who Remember "THOSE DAYS!

I liked them both as a break from the "Usual Fare" of Mystery, Current, Detective, Mini-Series, British Series on Netflix.

For the Older of us you might find both interesting for the GLORY DAYS of Real FASHION in NYC during the Past Century. Bergdorf's is particularly interesting because of the history of that company. It was charming and nostalgic of an era gone..since Bergdorf's is up for sale. The Vreeland is also fascinating because of what she made of her life and how her life reflected from the early 20th Century through her heyday into the 60's, 70's and 80's with her break into Vogue Magazine, then Harpers Bazar and then to her firing where she lead the Costume Extravaganzas at the NY Met where all the Glitterati would show up to see her latest fantastical displays.

Anyway...I like both for a break. The Bergdorf is great for the effort put into their "Holiday Window Displays" and the creativity and amazing detail. Along with the Celebrities and Famous like Jacki Kennedy, Yoko Ono, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Streisand, Susan Lucci, Joan Rivers, Cher.

Quite a funny story about Yoko Ono and her calling for Bergdorf's to come to her and John Lennons Apartment on Christmas Eve to buy 80 Fur Coats for her Friends and Relatives. And, that was when the fur protestors (animal rights activists) were throwing paint on those who wore furs in Manhattan! Quite interesting...that one.

Anyway...not for everyone but maybe a few on Netflix Site here on DU might find both watches interesting.
