The Ramen Girl

Sweet little story about a girl who goes to Tokyo after a boyfriend. She gets dumped but finds meaning and a new way of life in learning to make Ramen.

Bittersweet in that I think this was Brittany Murphy's last or one of her last movies.

I loved it because it could have traded in a lot of cross cultural tropes, but it stayed away from all that. Except only the irascible old chef who becomes her mentor.

I miss seeing Brittany Murphy, as I thought she was a good actress and such a cutie.

Brittany Murphy always brought such a nice presence to the movies she was in.
