What devices are you guys using to stream movies?

I use WD Live Plus in 2 rooms and the boy has a Logitech Google TV device

I find the standalone devices better than using the Xbox or PS3 mainly because both devices are such electric hogs. Plus we stream a lot of movies from a PC HD to our TVs and both systems have limited format compatibility.

It often tells me the internet is down when it works fine for my computer, and it gives cryptic error messages for netflix all the time. I've been considering getting a Roku or maybe Apple TV.

Mostly it was my fault, I thought the Ruku would also stream files off a PC and it does not.

The Kids Goggle TV is nice, you can sideload just about any android app you want, plus it does Amazon Prime videos which none of our other players will do (WD live plus, PS3, 360, O!play or Wii)

If you don't know the title to a movie, you are screwed. And the never ending repeats of the same suggestions in several different catagories is driving me bonkers.

We stream from our PC to the big/main TV and I like it. The boy friend likes to use the blue ray due to the picture quality but I dodn't like the FF function on the blue ray.

They let you see a lot more than the netflix browser does. You can add stuff your your instant queue and there is the ability to go to netflix from the browser.

There's a weird thing that happens about 9:00PM. But, because it is a consistant time, I suspect it is Comcast rather than the box. Otherwise, I like it fine.

Now that you've asked this question and I've thought about it, I have a ridiculous number of ways to stream Netflix.

AppleTV
PS3
XB0x360
Several laptops
Several desktops
iPad2
iPhone 4

Disposable income much? Sheesh!

The movie server also serves as a regular desktop and you can watch from there or we d/l onto a flash key and then put that into the Seagate for TV viewing.

I also have my own laptop, though, I prefer watching from a bigger screen.

SO will eventually get the movie server switched over to Linux and fully networked with the rest of the house. It's great having a Sys Admin as a mate.

The BluRay player is much better. The Wii was a pain, plus it had to have the Netflix DVD in it in order to connect. Very clunky, but it worked.

While I like the wii remote control better than the one on the bluray, the wii can't get hulu plus, which I use for the daily show and colbert report.

And there is nothing quite as funny as a bowling party on the boat.
