We are working our way through Breaking Bad for the second time.....wow.

The first time through it is the shock of the story line, the non-stop action, the twists....loved it.

The second time - one can appreciate the amazing writing, skill in crafting the plot lines and characters, and remarkable acting.

Wow - we've been through the Sopranos and Six Feet Under three times, Broadchurch twice - always fun to find something that becomes a "flick friend".

Can't wait for the third season of the Leftovers...Seasons 1 and 2 were just incredible.

Six Feet Under still remains one of the best series finales (not to mention best series) ever.

The Leftovers is really a strange one. I find it fascinating, but sooo bizarre. This last season should be equally unpredictable.

Always enjoy it as if it was the first time.

From the acting to the directing, cinematography, etc...perfection.

And don't get me started on the casting. Walter, Jessie, Mike, Saul and the rest. I can't imagine anyone better for those roles.

Even baby Holly did a great job!

We were absolutely hooked. I am wondering when I will be able to watch Season 3 for free (well without paying 2.99 for each episode). I know Season 3 will conclude around mid-June, but I don't know how long we'll have to wait before we can binge on the whole season 3 like we were able to with 1 & 2.

In the meantime, we have started Breaking Bad. We were thrilled that the same kind of fascinating character detail was there as what we found with Saul.

It's kind of amazing that I never noticed actor Jonathan Banks before. He has an extensive background as an actor and is one of our favorite characters. Odenkirk is a completely lovable scoundrel.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for mentioning other series that you enjoyed. We'll be checking them out!

I was absolutely riveted through the entire series. A satisfactory conclusion, as well. Right up there with Six Feet Under (best final episode ever) and The Wire.

Never saw Broadchurch, but loved the others. But think i have an unrealistic belief that writers will keep the storyline as brilliant and light as the beginning episodes. Instead, in my mind, series always devolve.

In Breaking Bad, the initial brilliance of pairing a drug dealer with a straight laced chemistry professor provided so much humor in the beginning. I didn't want that to go away. Didn't want it to gradually go downhill to what it did.

In the Leftover's, since I hate science fiction...I remember thinking at the beginning "at last, an " another world " event happens and the show is about how ordinary, everyday people react and behave."

I always think it's because writers run out of ideas or think they have to make things gorier or more true to life.

Seldom have I seen a series get better. Amazing race was once great because they started with ordinary people huffing and puffing up a hill. Then they mistakenly felt they had to change to beautiful young athletes.
