Many times when I am watching Netflix the movie will stop
and in a few seconds I will get a message that this title can't be reached at this time. I will go and watch Dish TV
and check back in a few minutes and it works fine. Is this a problem with Netflix or my internet provider? Very irritating.
I am thinking it is Netflix, last night when Netflix stopped I went to Youtube and watched a video and it ran fine no problems.

Being in CPUs all of my life, we suspect several things (and upon our experience, spouse and I):
1) signal interference (w/ your carrier somewhere along the transmission path), not likely, but does happen, especially when you have a storm (strong or not, it interferes either way);
2) Your Netflix box that feeds the TV, suspect perhaps it overheats (mine does, we unplug for the night/or the afternoon when not watching), later when we reboot, it comes up fine then. I think that more than likely, this may be your problem, it's what happens to us, and once we unplug, wait, it seems to resolve the issue;
3) Not enough hosts at Netflix to support demand for particular titles at a single time so some titles get 'locked up' or freezes up (depends on their interconnection agreements w/ the movie studios as to how many times the particular movie title plays at the same time (I know that there is verbiage in these contracts regarding the joint viewing of each movie title, I think compensation is involved here));
Good luck.
Added later: Another thing that seems to work too for us is to back all of the way out of Netflix (signoff) and then sign back on, and resume. Seems to work sometimes too.

(35,347 posts)maybe too many people watching the same video and their server can't handle it? It will just stop and
the little circle thing will spin on the screen sometimes it catches up and the video will start playing in a minute
or two. Then many times it will just say title can't be played at his time check back later. Sometimes I do have the
problem with my wifi extender overheating I think. Like you I will unplug it and be able to watch Netflix from my main wifi.
Then the next day I will plug the extender in and it works fine. Thanks.

(16,383 posts)After I've been watching NF for a while, my sound gets all funny. If I turn off the computer and come back after a few minutes it's usually OK. I've been wondering if it's just hot.

(12,422 posts)One minute you have 60mbps, next minute 5mbps or less.....Netflix operates on 15-20 mbps....
First unplug modem and plug back in after waiting a minute. If that doesnt work, Call your provider and tell them to send out tech to clear lines of static.

(9,696 posts)and i I have crappy internet service. Sometimes I can't get online, but anything that is streaming (via airport) will continue to play. I have noticed recentlly that occasionally there's a 1 second stop in netflix, then it's fine. Usually about 1 time per hour at the most.

(2,948 posts)or you can call them too. I was having an issue and called them and was surprised at their helpfulness. They can look at your connection on their end and see whats up.
