1. I thought it was really slow - spoiler alert

Maybe I'll go back and try watching more of it since you liked it. I thought it started really slow. They took way too long getting across the point that dad had become somewhat distant from the kids and mom.

SPOILER:
Then, they did the thing that is always wrong in movies and went to the roof. Where, despite the alien ships flying over top of taller buildings, seeing people and blowing the top off the building, they managed to not be seen because the ship inspecting their building didn't fly all the way up over the top of the building. To make it worse, no alien ship saw these humans riding the window washing scaffold down the side of the building.

I just thought it had too many problems.
