Binge watching on Netflix vs. Hulu
So, Netflix makes binging very convenient by having the option to automatically run subsequent episodes seamlessly.
Why doesn't Hulu have that? Or does it, but I haven't discovered it yet?

(537 posts)Maybe my version is limited.
Also, no commercials for me. Tried it that way, had to go for the higher priced version. Need total immersion, lol.
ETA: I'm an idiot. I just found it, Autoplay. I had it turned off.

(25,861 posts)After a while I figured there was no point in watching ads, and there was a limit on what I could watch, and lots of what I wanted to watch was behind the pay wall. I pay $12.97/month for the whole thing, and it's quite worth it in my opinion.

(25,861 posts)I currently have Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix, both streaming and DVD.
I also don't have regular TV, and haven't for some ten years now. That is the best thing ever. No commercials. Ever. I was at my sister's house for the Thanksgiving holiday, and while she watches far less TV than most people, when it was turned on I was driven bat shit crazy by the commercials. Which she NEVER muted. OMG! At least mute them.
And don't get me wrong. I watch a reasonable amount of TV, although admittedly I'm at best several seasons behind on most shows. I am NOT an elitist who will sneer at whatever you watch. Even if you watch shows I personally think are crap, I recognize that the ones I like you might think are crap. So there's no judging here, just that I watch some stuff, you watch other stuff.

(25,861 posts)That's unfortunate. Too bad you didn't solve that problem.
The thing with the various subscription services is that they all offer different shows/programming. Alas, there are more subscription services than most of us want to be bothered with, but I personally like Hulu a lot for its original programming.

(14,275 posts)I have a spare TV that I had hooked up to an old DVD player I used to access Netflix and Hulu. Hulu did not automatically go the next episode through that device.
Around two months ago I retired the DVD player and hooked up an Apple TV. That thing automatically brings on the next episode on both Hulu and Netflix. It may be the device you are streaming Hulu through that is causing you trouble.
