Housing update...its sold

Major PITA like I had not expected. New owner is reasonably well known in SoCal but has a serious butthead of a lawyer. Why the standard contracts for this kind of deal were not adequate is beyond me. His lawyer kept wanting to refine things and then blame us...

Finally I took a different approach and demanded that we meet with his principle in person or I would walk. His lawyer went batshit. We held firm. I told his principle what had been happening and gave him a choice of solving it then and there or I would go to my backup offer. Today the contract is signed. Escrow should be less than 30 days. The buyer is well regarded with a good reputation. I hope the lawyer is fired.

As for me, I am more accepting of the change than I once was. I've been spending less and less time there for health reasons. I have also started to sell other things. Perhaps it is time to move on.
