Another bad night

I've been up since 3:00 am yesterday, a little over 26 hrs now. Carol had the heartburn from hell last night. She laid in bed and burped and moaned for hours, then had to sit up because of the heartburn. I finally gave her some Prilosec that I take daily after reading that it helped another lady with her chemo heartburn. She seems to be at rest now at 5:30 am. I hope she sleeps for hours...and I hope I can get in some winks, as well. I was up all night a few days ago, and it takes a couple of days to get back to normal if you can get some sleep. Hopefully, we have learned how to deal with this aspect of chemo, now. Wow, what a night!
I am letting her get sound asleep before I crawl back in bed, so I won't wake her. Seems like there's a new challenge everyday.
This the first episode like this. I am keeping a daily journal on her feelings, reactions, vitals, meds taken, etc, so I can determine if there are patterns that might be helpful for future reference. I feel so darned helpless at times, so anything that can give me an edge will be helpful.

Mine prescribed prilosec for me. It didn't cure the burping, but helped with the heartburn.

Try getting her some peppermint or ginger tea. I lived on it. I was in chemo treatment before diabetes so I also kept peppermint hard candy and mints around.
