Red cell count low. Started Procrit today.

I guess my body was telling me something earlier this week when I complained about being so tired. I got to read all the advantages and disadvantages of taking Procrit to build up my red cells. I fully realize the risks, but will take the chance it it improves the way I've been feeling.

3. Hope you are doing well on the Procrit ...

do they do any PRBC transfusions? Each time my husband's red blood count has been low they have given him a transfusion, but each cancer is So different, so I'm not sure what the normal protocol entails.

4. No transfusions at this time.

I'm taking Neulasta for the white and Procrit for the red. So far there has been no big change in my cell count. I've been fighting dehydration again this week. Yesterday and today I had sodium cloride infusions before my treatments. My BP was very low both days. My onc is taking me off my BP meds to find out where my BP base line is.
I have to report in daily with BP numbers.

since you mentioned feeling so tired I wondered whether they you give you a boost with tranfusions. Once they hit a certain level they gave my husband a transfusion and he felt much better.
But as I mentioned each cancer is so different it is difficult to know the protocol for each one, kind of makes it hard to comment

We're all trying to figure out the next step!

So hoping tomorrow is better than today, at least that is universal.
