Finished 6th round of chemo today and rang the bell!

I have stage III-B, high-grade papillary serous endometrial carcinoma. It had spread to local organs, so everything was removed surgically; however, it had already spread to the peritoneum, as well. Fortunately, lymph nodes were negative.

(There's a P53 mutation going on and that's part of what makes it extra aggressive.)

Next up: ongoing Herceptin infusions and 5-6 weeks of daily radiation.

27. When we first got the diagnosis but before any treatment I bought four baseball caps that all read

fuck cancer. Two are black with large white lettering for Sparkly and me. Two are pink with more discreet white script for Sparkly and Sparkly Jr.

There is life after endometrial cancer. Mine came back, twice, but the last round was treated successfully with the immunotherapy drug Keytruda. I ended up with mild rheumatoid arthritis, but my CT scans have been clear for four years.

I’m so PROUD of you! As cancer survivors, we get up every day and do everything thing we can so that we can get up and have another day with our loved ones. And some days, we’d really like to take the day off, or maybe just sleep in, but, we don’t! You’re Awesome!

I have personally benefited from the wonder drug Herceptin, having been treated for Stage IIIA Her2+++ breast cancer, diagnosed 13 years ago, last month. And so far, so good!

Dennis Slamon, the father of Herceptin, is a hero in our house!

43. Had a post-chemo CT-scan last week and just got results today

"There is no evidence of cancer recurrence."

I'm still seeing the radiology oncologist a week from Friday to find out whether/why and how much I'll need radiation.
