Possible reaction to toradol injection?

I had a toradol injection and steroid injection for herniated disk pain today. I have had them before in combination and separately. If my memory serves me I had a similar reaction last time but wrote it off. I can say when I have the steroid injection alon I do not have these symptoms. I noticed the symptoms about half an hour to an hour after the injection. It is many hours later and I have small red spot rashes on upper cheek of face and joint and muscle pain from the waist down which wasn't there prior to the treatment. I applied aspercreme and got some relief. Incidentally the pain medication for my disks does nothing for this pain although it's helped my back a lot. I called the doctors office and they said I would need to come in but I am going to see how it is in the morning. I'm curious if anyone has had problems with toradol.

You are going to want to get this checked out, to rule out an allergic reaction that can progress to Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

They'll take blood and check for a spike in blood cells associated with allergic reaction.

This is an allergy you want nailed down. NOW.

I looked it up and it's not pretty. Thank you for the response. My doctor is attached to a urgent care center and is open until 9 I think I will go be seen.

Might have covered the allergic symptoms when they were taken together.

The Stevens Johnsons I have seen was multiple meds, in high doses, given for a long time. You practically blister and peel, inside and out.. It's rare and severe.

I don't think it could start from a single drug dose.

But my body seems to have built up a resistance. Your rash symptoms may more related to the steriods. Did you see your doctor yet?

the best way I can describe the pain is like a bursitis, but thankfully that has passed. The rash seems to be fading, it was more a facial flushing. So I believe it was the steroid also. I go for a follow up on my mri tomorrow so I will make mention of this reaction but as far as I can tell I am over it. Thankfully. Thank you for your input and concern.

It seems to bother my kidneys.. I start with increased thirst, frequent urination, and higher blood sugar. Plus I'm way more crabby, irritable, sleepless, and hungry. Even injected it makes my stomach hurt. Only as a last resort for steroids, for me.

Glad you are better.
