Hope its not behind a paywall. I found it in a forum I belong to for myeloma patients. They want to give prescribers more flexibility, moving away from the hard and fast limits that have been a reaction to the national opioid crisis. It encourages non narcotic treatments and discourages using multiple drugs concurrently, but allows more freedom in dosing. I havent had to use narcotics for several years after my last back surgery, but I was diagnosed with myeloma at that time. Being monitored regularly but it has not progressed. I was bed ridden in pain for a few months back then. Once they found the myeloma they initially thought that was the source of the pain but there were other problems that were resolved by the surgery. Still, I would hate to find myself in that kind of pain again and not have access to strong pain meds.
