Struggling with depression and anger

Could use some help. I have lost everything that gave me any joy. Singing, children, the gym, and an animal rescue organization. I'm volatile and find myself upset and angry. Plus I injured my hip in a fall.

Any thoughts?

1. I was very active too before the shut down. It has been a difficult year.

I was busy all day, every day with hobbies, actives and volunteer work.


But I just had my second Covid Vaccine and I am hoping I can get out of the house soon.
When you get your vaccines you should feel some relief?

I also did online activities, volunteering mentoring, forums, DNA and ancestry work.

I try to talk to friends on the phone weekly.

I broke my leg and ankle early on in the quarantine. Friends told me it was a good time to be injured. I couldn't go out and have fun anyway! I was able to get a lot of PT. Which perhaps you can do right now too. That way you will be in good shape when we can start getting out.

If it had not been for online and volunteer activities I would be screaming all day I think!

Hang in there, I think we are going to be getting back to normal sooner rather than later.

If you are already on meds perhaps you need an adjustment.
Or maybe it is time to see someone who can prescribe meds for your depression,
anxiety and anger issues. There are counselors and docs now who do this online.

Good luck, yes day to day is where it is at.
But with meds you could feel a lot better.

I don't know your financial situation, but I'm guessing that you aren't rich or you would already be getting help. It's hard for regular people to get the mental health aid that they need. I've been there and I know.

You might want to try calling a help line first to discuss your issues. Look up mental health services on your computer, and if there's A suicide line, call them, even if you aren't quite suicidal. Sounds like you're at a very low point and you could be suicidal some time soon. Those help lines have people who can direct you to mental health services where you live. You're going to need to do that because you need the help and you're not going to get better until you get it.

I know what it's like. You just want to curl up into a ball and shut out the world. But you've got to reach out to someone to get the help you need. Make that call and get the ball rolling toward dealing with your illness, because that's what it is. If you had a heart attack, would you be afraid to call an ambulance? These problems you're having are just as important.

I may need to do that. I'm going to contact my internist and see what I can do.

Not suicidal, but you are smart to mention it. You never know when you can help someone who is.

So magical and uplifting! If you're unable to sing now due to Covid, it must be hard after being immersed in such a wonderful activity.

Is your hip injury serious? Pain can be soul-draining, I know. Best of luck to you, and I hope you're singing again soon.

I'm having a hip Xray today, and then hopefully some Physical Therapy. It's been over 2 months since I fell.

Makes me cranky!

you have a good medical work up.
Ive been dealing with extreme anxiety and panic issues and physical symptoms and multiple
medication changes in the last year.
Make sure the dr checks your THS (thyroid) levels... all 3 of them.
You can have thyroid issues and have THS levels in the normal range...they need to check.
Could it be menopause or peri menopause related?
check possibility of diabetes and pre-diabetes
AND check CBC (complete blood counts) for anemia of any degree.
Also vitamin levels if you can.
Get a better picture of your health.
you will feel better eliminating or confirming some conditions while looking for mental health
help.
If worse comes to worse the Emergency room can talk to you about options to.
Ask for a social worker to help you find resources.
This can be done, its been a bad year for a lot of us.
Ive been to a hospital or crisis bed 5 times since last June.
Still a work in progress ( I cant take a lot if not MOST medications).....
keep at it...I know its hard through the fog of depression and or anxiety.

You have friends here!!! Life is a struggle right now and may have been in the past and may be in the future, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Please talk with professionals, even though this feels like forever....it is not.

that Leftie Nanner has recced one of my posts I feel like i must have made some sense and i sorta smile to myself.

Hopefully, you are about to be fully vaccinated and will again be able to renew some of the contacts you so miss.

I know this is trite, but it is still good advice: when you've reached the end of your rope---tie a knot and hang on!

Thanks for your support. DU has been a lifeline for me.

We have had our first vaccine - second one April 7th.

I just want to hug my children again! And have lunch with my friend Ruth.

Were you able to get to the doctor about your hip? Sounds like that may have been the last straw. I highly recommend getting that checked out to make sure it's not more serious that you first suspect.

Then if you are able I recommend exercise. I find it helps my mood to just take a walk, even if it's just a stroll around the yard, a simple change of venue.

Also, what you are doing here, reaching out. It's also healing to just reach out, even if no one reaches back.

Listening to music can also be healing. If you're able to shake a tail feather, all the better.

I hope you find something helpful here. There's always someone here to help. Stay strong. Stay encouraged.

I saw the nurse practitioner about the hip 2 months ago and he said it was nothing.

Having an Xray this afternoon.

Trying hard not to holler at my husband.
