Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumAnyone else here watch "After Life" on Netflix?
Its Ricky Gervais project about a man who loses his wife to cancer and how he tries to cope.
Thats not my situation, but some of what I see in this series seems pertinent to my mental state. After grieving for a period of time, the character comes to terms with the fact that he realizes that he had a good life when his wife was alive and pretty much realizes that hes never going to have that happiness again. He doesnt want to die himself, but hes not excited about living.
Sometimes, I think thats true of a lot of us. Not necessarily limited to a relationship - but we realize that the best years are behind us and dont have anything to get excited about.
How do we get that excitement back? Especially during the time of a pandemic?

(14,549 posts)I don't get Netflix to save money. I might not watch it, because it hits too close to home, and I'm already on edge.
Hope you're well

(4,110 posts)It's a brilliant series with some side splitting comedy thrown in.
We saw the episode last night that had the woman in it who uses her breast milk to make rice pudding and her vaginal yeast to make bread. I have not laughed so hard in a LONG time!
