When I am lucky and feel a little positive and have a bit of gumption, the chores and clutter surround me and I can easily fall right back into the negative zone. I've learned to stay laser-focused on a few simple items on my do-list that I can complete which results in a period of feel-good.

Another is as an introvert, at 74 I have a couple of friends still alive that I enjoy talking to but I'm reluctant to call them out of fear I will have to turn them down on an invitation or be negative about some of their suggestions for my depression.

It's truly a different world we exist in, living with depression. It's a constant war between positives and negatives. Right now, it's just getting to be daylight and I'm hearing a dove talking to me outside (+), I feel fairly rested after some sleep (+) but we're facing a cold, dreary day (neg.).

I'm putting on my blinders to avoid the clutter (+) and the coffee is good (+).......

Thanks for sharing the cartoon. It's a keeper!........
