Related: About this forumI've started taking the 'anti-nightmare' medication
It's taken right at bedtime. I still had a weird dream that included a few nightmare elements but it was still a much more restful night.
I'm slightly hopeful.

(12,250 posts)How it works. After getting ran over and drug 100 feet under a car off my Motorcycle has left me with brutal attack nightmares where I wake up kicking bed posts, beating the hell out of my bed and falling off the bed for years now. I had Achilles surgery 10 weeks back and had a few nightmares, and was terrified I will re rupture the Achilles kicking with that foot. Looking forward to an update from you.
The VA offered a med, it is not working.

(19,085 posts)It worked wonders for me. I use different solfeggio tones, depending on my mood. They also help in lulling me to sleep - my kitties are also fans. Ill link to a couple u may want to test out.

(9,899 posts)I didn't even know there was such a thing. I hope you can give it more time and maybe it'll work.
I also have disturbing dreams and used to have nightmares. I'm now just relieved that they're disturbing and not horrifying.
Another Du'er post some videos with music that might work for you. I'll try them as well. It'd be great to actually have good dreams. I'm 68 and can count the number of good dreams I've had on one hand.
Good luck....It's cool that you're actively looking for something to help
