You really shouldn't have to be hassled between the two, Den.
Sorry.

See what Tobin has to say.

Given the choice between long-term and potentially debilitating, and less debilitating, I was kind of hoping for what was behind door no. 2.

The important thing is that you are getting the right treatment.

I think what your psychiatrist might be looking at is your improvement with a drug used to treat bipolar disorder. That would be my guess. A doctor is usually loathe to change your treatment when what you are doing is working well.

It may turn out that you have both bipolar 2 and PTSD. So both of your doctors might be right. Hopefully that's not the case, though.

I see no logical reason it couldn't be, many co-morbidities exist in medicine.

Functionally it doesn't matter.

Even if you see this as a set-back, just get up, dust yourself off, and keep going. If you have questions, ask them. If what a doctor is doing isn't working, tell him or her.

I know what I just said can be very difficult to do sometimes, and some may find it impossible without a great deal of help. But I think you can do it now days.

I live part of the lyrics of that English sports/novelty song from the 1990's:

I get knocked down, but i get up again, they're never gonna keep me down

Just venting.

I'm in the middle of a rousing game of squeaky hamburger ... With the dog. He's winning.

The real loser of the evening, though, is a stuffed skunk who just lost tail, limbs, and stuffing. The crime scene is still in evidence on my living room floor, while the perpetrator is now happily asleep on the couch.

Dog toys have dim prospects and short life expectancies here. He basically plays with them for a few minutes and then chews them up.

The guy I used to work with plays guitar. He has talked about that place a lot in past years.

Ok, needy and selfish of me to say this, and totally unfair, but I need you around to keep me walking the tightrope over the pit of insanity.

At any rate, I hope can be at peace with everything. I am realizing how important that is.
