What's for Dinner, Thurs., Sept. 2, 2021

Seafood salad, which I bought already made at the store. Cherry tomatoes and crackers to go with it.

Pineapple peach kombucha.

Dessert: chopped nectarine over shortcake with lemon sorbet over the top.

Would love to cook up some more garden produce, but time has been entirely consumed by storm cleanup both at home and in the school gardens I supervise.

Filet of flounder, floured and sautéed in white wine, capers and lemon. On the side, yellow rice and steamed broccoli, (we’re at the end of a large head and I’m getting tired of it!). Apple slices, dark chocolate and brandy to finish up.

Dessert: dunno. Donut. Apple.

Second trip to store tomorrow this week. Need watermelon, more donuts. But it might wait til midweek.

When I was learning to cook, I would say to my mom, "There, chicken legs. Four hours at 375." This made for an uproar.

Ham from the freezer and white beans plus the usual veggies
Cornbread
I also finished off the baked flounder from last night with veggies.

FLFC is exhausted from having a bath. We worry he was too frail but he seems OK. He hasn't eaten much at all this evening, preferring to nap. I'm going to offer him some peanut butter now to see if it gets his engine started, of course it might be the wrong brand.
