Had a late lunch so dinner might just be a few nibbles off the meal I had at the restaurant, which would be herbed grilled salmon and broccoli with Parmesan.
We ordered every type of appetizer from the menu: shrimp scampi, spinach artichoke dip with pita crisps, calamari, fried ravioli with sauces, stuffed ziti.
For dessert I ordered chocolate mousse which came in at only 240 calories. However, even though I said three times, I want the chocolate mousse and NOT the chocolate mousse cake, the waitress still brought me the latter.
Groan. I said it must be destiny that I have the chocolate mousse cake. I made up for it by only having a few bites. While I should have left it at the table, I took it home and hope I have the discipline to only have one bit a day.
edited to add: this was a lunch with my union buddies. We celebrated the retirement of our chief negotiator.

(130,895 posts)on my up-coming trip to New England, and hope I LIKE it, or some of it; my taste buds or something have been wack-o for quite a while, so I seriously appreciate anything that tastes good/decent; chocolate mouse (AND/or cake) sound fine.
NO idea what I'll have for dinner.
Our supermarket in the Catskills (get it?) has an amazing fish selection and they had catfish. The Landlady(!) made a Cajun rub. Im going to grill it on a cedar board which is a new technique for me.
You soak the 5 X 10 X 1/2 board in water for 30 minutes before use then put it on the grill. I love learning new cooking tricks.
Yellow rice and a tomato salad will fill out the meal. Cookies for dessert.
Pan fried walleye, roasted new potatoes, garlic coleslaw, last tomato from the garden, Good Earth ice tea.
