organic corn. We had hoped to go to the Sauerkraut Festival this year in very red Waynesville, OH, and take home the best cabbage rolls in the world (IMHO). Alas, once again, it's not looking good because of CoVid-19 Delta variant and as we await the green light for our boosters. Many still not vaccinated in this state, and no okay for the younger kids either. Maybe just a pit stop in to get freezer packs and OUT! No shopping the street!

parsley.

Harvested oregano for drying today. Never knew it's a perennial and was suprised to find two pots growing this spring.

Sauce consistency was terrific & meat was super tender, but I got carried away with black pepper.
I must have added in twice, forgetting about the first pass.
Wasn't ridiculous, but it was more than it should have been.

We had a family function yesterday (our own annual Bridge Tournament) and there was a lot of food leftover. Slices of cold cuts, potato salad, chili, fresh fruit, and baked goods. There was also a little spaghetti left over from the other night.

My niece and I came in third out of 7 teams. She played very well for someone who has only been playing for 2 or 3 years.

I think I got dealt the worst bridge hand I've ever seen yesterday. I had NO points in my hand, and couldn't claim a mis-deal because I had two 10s. As if that wasn't bad enough, my niece was sitting across from me singing REM's "It's the End of the World as We Know It."

It's always fun to get together and play once a year. We missed it last year because of the pandemic, and it was scaled down a lot this year because we asked the family not to bring unvaccinated kids with them. The adults are all vaccinated, thank goodness.

Missed my Mom a lot.
