What's for Dinner, Mon., Oct. 26, 2021

Caramelized Teriyaki Salmon with Sesame Toasted Buckwheat Noodles.

Apple pie for dessert, along with hazelnut chicory "decaf."

I went on a shopping spree for buckwheat noodles. I knew the big Japanese/Chinese market would have them. I got both the fresh kind and the dried. Look at this selection!

Dried noodles.

Fresh noodles.

And always fresh Asian vegetables. Bok choy, Napa, lotus root, you name it, they have it.

The thing that kind of surprised me about this market is that so much of the food is "prepared," i.e., comes in little packets with seasonings.

I've gone to this market for years, but never really spent much time shopping aisle by aisle. I didn't get the whole thing covered on this occasion, either. There is so much. For example, the noodle pictures above only represent a small portion of the selection.

in a small and somewhat remote town. We have a couple of Mexican markets that are very good, but that's it. They also sell prepared foods like Tamales.
