Vichyssoise.

Filet mignon (huge splurge from Whole Foods while I was in 'merica) w/blue cheese
Roasted asparagus
Beet salad with chèvre and candied walnuts

I don't think we will be needing dessert.

How bout you?

3. Well, that puts my day old, soggy half of a Subway meatball sandwhich to shame.

C'est la vie, some days its champagne and caviar, some days its day old Subway and a warm Diet Pepsi.

Oh well, don't cry for me, Argentina. I could cook if I wanted to, this time of year I'm more interested in working outside in the yard and on my garden, food just isn't a big priority. I consider cooking basically a winter sport.

the husband got a nice cash tip on a job today (he moves furniture), so he suggested going out for dinner.

the practical side of me says to just add it to the moving stash, but the wife side of me is thrilled that my husband actually initiated a date

and tilapia slathered in the carmelly sauce, topped with kalamata olives. It was an experiment, I scored a large bag (2 pounds?) of huge shallots for under a dollar today. I tried to snitch a large piece of shallot before it was cooked, it was way stronger than I expected. It made me cry and I had to spit it out half chewed.

10. Stronger than fresh garlic cloves? Guess it's the oniony part, huh? Sounds like a great meal, though
