Related: About this forumsomeone gave us an air fryer
But they didn't give us the instructions manual. I imagine I can find that online.
Truth is, we don't eat a lot of fried food. Also, I haven't heard a lot of good things about air fryers, and I have no idea whether or not this is a "good" one or not.
I imagine I'll be looking up recipes to use it online.

(5,229 posts)I made scalloped potatoes the other day. Chicken wings are great too. You can get recipes by googling "air fryer chicken, etc. Lots of free information. Looking for my second one. First is worn out.

My sister bought one a year ago, didnt like it at all, and took it back to the store.
Good luck!

(9,983 posts)It's actually a countertop high-speed convection oven and not a fryer at all, so rest easy. Among other things, it makes the best grilled cheese ever....6 minutes, 3 on a side and does not burn. Perfect for stuff like frozen french fries, etc, but not long ago I did salmon filets in mine...sprayed with olive oil spray, set them on parchment for easy cleanup, salt, pepper, and dill, 8 minutes at (IIRC) 390, and perfection!

(86,647 posts)Haven't used it yet. I did look up the manual but didn't think of looking up recipes as someone suggested in a post above.
I think I'll do that.

(9,267 posts)Easy stuff like frozen potatoes. Great for hot dogs. Also great for reheating leftovers that you dont want to get soggy like the microwave - pizza, egg rolls, etc.

chicken, etc. I absolutely love it.
I also use it to heat up pizza/leftovers and for freezer sides like mozzarella sticks, onion rings, tater tots or like fries. We even occasionally use it to toast bread.
The only real issue I've experienced, is that they come in such a variety of sizes, that the times and temps on some of the recipes need to be tweaked.
Other than my Keurig, it's probably the best kitchen appliance, I've had in the last 20 years.
As long as you clean it after you make anything messy (greasy), it should last a long time. I've had three(one was in the house and I used it often)not because they had any issues or anything, the first one was my son and DIL's,(it was fairly small, back in 2017) so when they moved they took it with them, so we got a new one, much bigger. Now we have a medium size one, for 2 people which is perfect if you're going to cook meat in it. I've seen certain recipes where you would need a bigger one, but it just depends on how many people you're cooking for.

(1,200 posts)Brussel sprouts, as mentioned already. I bought cubed squash in the produce aisle for the first time, and it was very nice air-fried. If you like roasting veggies, it definitely can compete.
