Junk food has no appeal anymore. It's not just that the junk food is no good for you, it's that the junk food is so stripped of ingredients that it is no good all by itself.

More complex.
Started out with a standard buttermilk blueberry. Now they have lemon zest, juice and sour cream stirred in.

I invented a new soup last night--and it will be reinvented again today or tomorrow! I have to have guides, though. The Vegetarian Flavor Bible sits to my right for a quick perusal.

But the bottom line is: was the sour cream and lemon delicious? It appears you were looking for a fairly distinct and intense lemon flavor. Which, of course, is great with blueberries.

This morning I am on my second mug of French roast decaf.

This version started out with a recipe from the NYT using ricotta. I am
More likely to have sour cream or Quark in my fridge. My wife really likes the buttermilk we get here also.
Hard to go wrong with pancakes unless you forget the baking powder... I've heard...

However, baking soda works better than baking powder according to all the old ladies who taught me how to make biscuits a zillion years ago .

Buttermilk also works really well in cake. Especially chocolate.

I love a cold glass of buttermilk with leftover cornbread or a pile of Saltines. I crumble the crackers up in the buttermilk and eat it with a spoon.
