I found a good recipe for waffles at Martha Stewart's website.

(7,080 posts)I stumbled on this some years ago: At a 2:1 ratio mix cream of tartar and baking soda to make baking powder. It doesn't have that bitter taste that the commercial ones do. I use 1/4 Cup of tartar (a jar of tartar is 1/4 cup) to 2 TBSP of baking soda to make a batch. Sift it thru a FINE strainer three times. If it clumps at a later date, then just sift again and good to go. Enjoy your flapjacks!

ingredients. Tastes great.
Also I use olive oil instead of butter or fat, healthier.
