Fresh raw oysters with the usual cocktail sauce, lemon and vinegar.

Broiled strip steak sliced paper thin and served over angel hair with oil and garlic.

Caesar salad with croutons and anchovies.

Pinot noir.

The Landlady(!) is planning this feast for our last night in Dewey Beach, DE. Our hotel room has a terrific little kitchen and the view of the Atlantic is spectacular!

'We' used to spend weekends there, friends of my husband shared a summer rental, so we'd travel there often.

The BEST part, for me anyway (I didn't like sand/beach, during my middle-years!!!) was driving back to SW DC apartment (before kids, obviously) and picking up fresh TOMATOES @ roadside stands (and melons too) and having the best breakfasts: tomato/cheddar/toast.

but I'm a little miffed. Al was out and about for a dental appointment, and he had to return something at the hardware store, etc. and he got himself a sandwich... and didn't bring me one.

I wouldn't normally care, but I'm not feeling well. It would have been nice not to have to do ANYTHING for dinner.

He did bring me some medicine for my flu symptoms, so that's something.

pizza is ham, onion, peppers and extra cheese

with angel hair pasta. Didn't have any shallots, so husband went out and picked wild onions. Worked okay.

Still working on eating the dark cocoa brownies with pecans.
